Re: Fans in sleeping area and reading lights
Great ideas! Really like the under-cabinet LED lights, it always seems a little dark in those corners. I may have to borrow that idea in some form :-)
We switched out the incandescent bulbs in our original reading light fixtures for LED bulbs, so...
This is a new one for me: spent yesterday afternoon doing maintenance on the trailer, such as sanitizing the water system, cleaning, etc. I accessed the cargo compartment a number of times without issue.. this evening I went to grab something from the cargo compartment, reached under the latch...
You're going to like the improvement, I did the same in our Wilderness 2250 - longer OSB base and a real queen-size mattress. Huge improvement for us, I'm 6'3" and it makes for a much nicer sleep.
Thanks! Water line connections were pretty straightforward, factory lines had 1/2" screw-on couplers. Hardest parts were a) finding the 1/2" male to 3/8" male water line adapters (local hardware store had them, just had to search thru the stock extensively); and b) finding/making the right...
Carried out a few more mods/changes this past week - nothing big, but one involves comfort :)
It's been almost a year, and we've decided the stock short-queen mattress won't cut it anymore - too uncomfortable and too short for my 6'3" frame. Rather than find a mattress topper we bit the bullet...
Thanks for the comments! Yeah, didn't think it was worth the effort for a claim... I'll just replace it with something better, don't mind if it goes with the trailer if we ever decide to sell. Entertaining the idea of replacing the bathroom faucet as well.
We replaced the stubby little faucet...
So, after 4 trips with our 2015 Wilderness, the kitchen faucet's removable sprayer is leaking - there's a "button" on the side of the sprayer that changes the spray pattern, and water squirts out of the button's rubber cover when the taps are on. The cover doesn't have a hole in it, but the end...
Added a couple more accessories today:
In the front cargo area, two pairs of 'Hold-It' tool holders to hold the broom and small extendable scrubber out of the way:
The holders shown are the 'medium' size ones (http://www.holditsystem.com). They're a nice plastic and rubber unit, seem pretty...
Great-looking ladders! Thanks for the tip re: conditioner & staining, I built a bunk ladder out of some leftover pine boards from a bed frame, and was thinking about the staining part :-)
I can imagine it would be really disappointing to encounter that. Kudos to Heartland for being proactive and the dealer for working to resolve the situation quickly, though. A friend went thru something somewhat similar a couple years ago with another brand of trailer (water damage in one of...
Thanks MotoLynx! The shelf was pretty easy, just some tedious cutting (a Dremel with a metal cutoff wheel helped with all the smaller cross wires) - maybe a different type of wire shelf would negate the need to cut the shelf to the right depth. I dabbed some white Tremclad paint on the cut...
Just posting the latest mods to our trailer:
Made a small freezer shelf out of a spare 'ClosetMaid' wire shelf - trimmed it to length and depth, and capped the ends.
I know I could have ordered one online for our NorCold fridge (no one stocks them around here), but with shipping it would be...
My wife was hoping for some sort of cover for the stove top of our TT (i.e. a little bit extra "counter" space for things), and a friend of ours showed us this mod. I've since seen reference to this in other forums, thought I'd post ours.
1) Find a wooden cutting board that's roughly the same...
