Recommended Camping in Ottawa Canada Area

I was thinking of Wesley Clover too, that would be my recommendation. Going further west towards Fitzroy park will just be a lot more travel time to get anywhere in Ottawa. Wesley park is right off the 417, easy access to park, then right back onto the highway no matter which way you are...

    Electricity Jolt

When the fire people were done, they said that the fire started in the trailer where the fuses are located. They determined this by the amount of damage that was in that area. All that was running was the fridge/freezer in the main coach, and the smaller fridge in the outside kitchen. Both...

    Electricity Jolt

Long story short, trailer is now reduced to ashes as a result of what I believe was a power surge while plugged into shore power at my house. Yes of course less than 1 week before leaving for camping! l lost many items in the house that were plugged into my wall plugs also. I thought that the...

    Water Pump location?

When I had to locate my water pump on my trailer it wasn't too bad, 2 screws and voila. Getting access to the water heater was another story. What a PITA! I often wonder what the design team was thinking on this one. Still considering myself youngish, I worry about the older ones of us...

    Battery Life

Hello! DW took the trailer and didn't make it to their destination (couldn't get trailer into spot so are now boondocking it). I have the fridge turned on with the gas for them, but now I am wondering about the battery. They will only be using the lights, so how long "should" it last...no...

    Diesel life

I am thinking of trading my gas truck in for a diesel and making the next step, to what I think will be easier towing (Not cheaper, does that even exist?). The cost for the gas (2008 Hemi with no cylinder deactivation because it's a 2500 series) is killing me with no trailer, but especially...

    Outdoor kitchen

I never worried about it. We just locked the door when we went out for the day, and at night and we were all set. Don't think it's anything to worry about.

I was thinking of posting that when I was on the way into work today... Enjoy!

How to manually operate slide on 33TBUDS?

On mine there really is no rails to see underneath. It's all enclosed under there. IF I do have this problem, I don't want to start cutting that up. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of enclosing the underbelly? I have seen other posts where the motor is on TOP of the slide. I hope that's...

How to manually operate slide on 33TBUDS?

Did you find out how to do it? I've got the same model and and been up and down, in and out of the trailer and I'm not too sure either where it is for all of the slides. I have been dreading the day that it doesn't work for me, either setting up, or taking down. In my bag of manuals I did get...

    Winter Storage...

At that time no, i didn't have the water heater bypassed. Never had that problem before, but i guess we'll call it a new "feature" of the new one. Will have to try bypassing it next year and see what happens. That being said though, shouldn't it still fill up and allow air to go through the...

    Winter Storage...

So while I was at work DW decided to remove the TV, so I guess it's out for the winter. LOL! Before I was going to run antifreeze through it, I usually blow out the lines with my air compressor via the city water connection. I couldn't get any air to come out of any of the faucets etc. I...

    Winter Storage...

It's that time off year where some of us in the great white north look towards (not happily) doing the winter storage routine. This is my 1st trailer with a TV in it. Do you take the TV out during the winter months? Parts of me say yes, and others say no. The rest of the entertainment...

    RV Cover Options

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing today on my way to work. I drained all the water out yesterday, going to go at it later this week with the air compressor to take out the rest of the water and get the lines relatively clear, then put in the ever popular antifreeze! I never covered up...

Improvements (in my eyes) on 33TBUD

Just some small changes that we have noticed in our short time with our trailer. Exterior lighting 1. Put the exterior light by the door closer to the nose of the trailer. Where it currently is, when the door is open, the light is covered by the door, making the stairs VERY dark to see to...

Possible upgrade in TV? Gas vs. Diesel

Why after a hard pull? I would have thought more important before a pull to make sure the oil is flowing good?

Possible upgrade in TV? Gas vs. Diesel

Good Day, I currently tow my trailer with a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab 4X4 with the 5.7L Hemi. I have no issues with the weight of the trailer towing the trailer and the set up is finally working good for me. I am thinking of switching vehicles to a 2008 Ford F250 Quadcab 4X4 with the 6.4L...

Roof top air vents during travel

Before we left our campsite yesterday, the 2 roof top air vents were closed. While en route they must have opened and we hit quite the rain storm coming home last night. When we got home, and checked, the floors were the vents are, are completely soaked! All of the other windows were closed...

    WD hitch angle

Doesn't tow too bad actually. I've got 2 of the Husky sway controls on it so keeps it inline pretty good. No real major sway that i'm all that concerned about. When the gusts come, they hit you pretty hard, but a few seconds later everything is under control.

Owner of New North Trail 33TBUD

Congratulations on the fancy new tent! We have the same modle and are happy with it. It can be a bit tight in some camp sites, but turns pretty quickly when backing up which is nice. Enjoy!

    WD hitch angle

Can I put too much of an angle on it if I put in a too many washers/spacers?

    WD hitch angle

Yes, forgot to mention it's the round bar style. Dodge is a 3/4 ton.

    WD hitch angle

While looking at my TV and TT all hooked up and loaded to go, I noticed a bit more squat than I would like on the rear of the TV, but the TT appears to be towing very level. I have the WD bars pulled up so they are horizontal. If I bring them up another link, they are going to be on quite the...

Replacing the recessed lights with the new recesed LED lighting fixtures.

Anyone ever seen any colored LED's? I'm looking to try and find 2 red ones to replace in the bedroom. The white lights over the bed are just a tad to bright if you need to turn them on in the middle of the night.

    Leveling, Stability and Hitches

Just another few curious (possibly loaded) questions. Where is the best location to set a level to determine if you are level on your campsite? Before I extend my tips, I put the level in the middle of the floor by the island, that way it is easy to see from the door. Is there a better...

    Night Lights for Interior Steps

I need something like that for the ouside steps. The way the porch light is covered by the door, it makes the steps really dark when you have the door open to go in. Might try and wire up the clearance lights to the battery via 7-pin plug and use that, or try wiring in another clearance light...

North Trail water pump location and winterizing

    Hey All!!

Wow! I have finally found someone else with a 33TBUD! Congrats! haven't camped with it yet, but Tuesday is the maiden voyage from the driveway. We're not going to park ours, but hope to travel to various parks this summer (IF the gas prices don't go crazy).

North Trail water pump location and winterizing

Thanks for the reply. Everyone here seems so helpful and friendly! I've managed to run some water through the pump. It did sound like it was coming from the rear bunk area. It would make sense for it to be back that way, as it's closer to the holding tank. I didn't think i'd have to remove...

    Styrofoam in vents?

Managed to get the small vents off and take out as much of the styrofoam as was in the vents out. They are tough little ones to get off, and are on there good and snug for sure. I am sure that we will end up getting more show up when we turn on the AC. Might take a bit though, only 32F here...

North Trail water pump location and winterizing

Good Day, We just took delivery of our 33TBUD last week, and I'm trying to locate the water pump. I haven't really run any water through it to hear where it is when it's running. I'm thinking far ahead into the future, and wondering where it is, and what is the best way to get the antifreeze...

    Styrofoam in vents?

Just picked up our 33TBUD and bought it he land night. When we ran the vents for the cooling system, there seemed to be a lot of styrofoam pieces in the lines. Are you able to take off the white vents covers to clean up the styrofoam pieces? Any other ideas on how to clean them out? Also i am...
