Last May we upgraded our 2010 Bighorn to a 2015 Bighorn 3685 Rl (vin #5SBFBG3828FE285714). As soon as I took the unit home and was packing it I noticed a hydraulic line bubble in the front compartment. Since then, we have had two other lines replaced under warranty with similar bubbles near...
Got our 3685RL in May and we full-time and so far love it. We too were a little disappointed in the window not being behind the tv, but have gotten used to it. We have made a couple suggestions today that would help our situation a little and one that would probably help everyone. We found...
Just replaced our 2010 Big Horn 3670 with a 2015 Big Horn 3685 and have a couple suggestions from using it for two months. The first would be to extend the main bedroom closet to be even with the drawers and cabinet to the right. As it is, clothes hung on a regular hanger won't allow the doors...
While flushing the black water tank, water started to pour out of the bottom of the rv. Upon checking the problem, I discovered that there is an anti-siphon valve behind the circular panel in the shower. Some bugs had gotten into the valve and was keeping it from functioning. If others have...
I agree that the mileage isn't the best at around 9 while towing and 15 mpg doing 70 on interstates. Pulls like crazy, but has limited range with the factory tank so I installed a 60 gallon auxillary in the bed that I got from Northern Tool. Works great and increased the range by adding...
The first three steps of our outside stairs tilt away from the fifth wheel and are loose. When you go to step from the third step to the last top step, the third step rotates and tries to throw you off. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
Was a good display for the Heartlands and was good for us to meet Jim B. too. Some features on the new models are really nice, but some things on the old models made them nice too. Wish we could pick and chose, but these aren't the custom models and what some of us like others might not. Keep...
Well, walking out the door now for retirement. Heading to Lake Wales shortly and on to see the Country from there. Hope to see you all on the road as our paths cross!
I have an 08 F250 and put a 60 gallon fuel/tool tank in the short bed that I bought from Northern Tool with their kit that ties into the existing fuel line and it was an easy install and I've had no problems in the year I have had it installed.
Got the water back. Was something very simple, but difficult to find. The handle on the winterize valve was broken and wasn't moving the valve. It showed the valve in normal position, but was actually partially open to bypass and was sucking the air instead of water from the tank. Used...
We too woke up to no water, but don't think that the tank is frozen. I drained the tank and the water ran out freely and I refilled it only to still have the pump run with no water coming from the tank. Put a heater in the area for two days plus it's been above freezing for over 24 hours so...
We are going to Custer, SD to work camp this summer. 25 hrs./ wk for each of us for full hookup site and $1000/month stipend. Site won't be reported as income as it is required to live on site as part of the security and the park owner gets to write that off as an expense.
Have the fireplace in our 3670 & it has been great as a supplemental heat source the past few weeks. We've found that since the heat rises, it even helps in the bedroom when the door is left open. We also had a space heater, but found it was in the way alot and the fireplace more convenient.
I use yahoo and hotmail both. Haven't had a problem with either. I use one for friends and the other for business as they seem to want to send you advertisments after you buy something from them the first time.
Was trying to remove the stop light over the weekend to replace a bulb and it appears the light merely pulls out by working the rubber around the opening, but didn't come out easily and I didn't want to break anything. Was I looking at it correctly and it's just tight or did I miss something?
The tailpiece going out of the lavatory sink plastic around the drain plug cracked and started leaking Saturday (the day the unit went out of warranty). I called the dealer Monday and they were sorry, but the unit was out of warranty by two days! I contacted Heartland and was referred to Terry...
Got it working, the cover over the center spark had been bent up slightly at the front and once I bent it down to touch the igniter pipe it worked. Thanks for the suggestions.
When using the front burner, the igniter on gas stove won't light the front burner. It will light the rear two, but not the front. Is there an adjustment that can be made for the igniter to light this burner too.
With Dish Network I have to contact them and have them change me over to the location I am currently at. Unfortunately, when I do that, the home system suffers the local channels.
Moved into the BH today on the way to full timing by the end of the year. Retirement and then onto the road after the first of the year. Will see what we are missing or need and what works and doesn't before heading to Florida in January.
Still need to make several trips to the auction house...
Mine have started doing the same thing all around the unit. Even the slideout door rubs when it gets opened. There is no adjustment and the paint is rubbing off the doors and it is still under warranty. What is with this problem? I may need to address it now as I only have about a week left...
Had issues with the air mattress on my Big Horn too and had the replacement with bag, etc. and that is truly a better situation. Have used it twice now and no holes. The first one I too ran out of patch material and ended up going to Wally World and picking up a generic air mattress to finish...
Actually was referring to the electric on-off switch at the water heater itself for the 120 operation. It worked earlier, but we had problems with the switch gear and this is the first time we have tried it since getting it back from the dealer with the main electrical problem. Tried resetting...
Was wondering whether anyone may be able to help out. The hot water heater isn't working on electric. I have checked the circuit breaker and there is power coming out of it, but there is no power at the on-off switch for the electric water heater. Is there anything between the two that could...
Agree with the answers given and would add these, on our 3670, the sewer hose goes in a small compartment near the outlet and we have no problems viewing the tv from the recliners in the end cap.
Over the weekend while working on the exterior of my 3670, I discovered the supply line for the ice maker was run outside the unit to the bottom of the slide for the refrigerator. The line is not protected or insulated. Has anyone had a problem with this line freezing? According to the...
Got the repair kit. It was enough to repair the main slide, but the slide at the desk also needs a repair so I contacted Rex at Parkland to see if I could get the plastic runners for it too. Installed the first kit and seemed to be easy to do and works ok.
Only 85 days until retirement and full time rving! Can't wait. Heading to Florida for the winter and summer work camping in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Will certainly give the 3670 some use and my new bride will get to see some of the Country.:D
Received the repair kit today from Parkland Plastics. No instructions either so thanks Bob hopefully using your instructions and pictures I can get it installed. For those interested, it came as part no. XXX0060M Repair Kit HRV. It is basically two strips of plastic with double sided tape on...
I have same problem with my 09 3670. Took it back to dealer and they said was normal for this to happen. Now I am wondering. Can I get the kit and install it myself since dealer seems to be no help with the issue?
