Heartland North Trail 21FBS

Has anyone ever had their "Slide out" fail to operate? If so, how do you get the slide out to go out or back in if the motor fails? I was told to take off the top panel and use a hand drill along with the tool that was sent with the trailer to get the slike out to work. My other question is "how do you remove the top panel"?

Hi. I have a 2009 Northtrail 22fds. You are correct about the tool that came with the kit, but the motor is below the sofa sleeper not in the top panel. The tool connects to the end of the motor. To get to the motor, you have to remove the bottom fascia below the sofa (it's stapled on). Then you have to get some finish screws to screw the fascia back on. I have never had my popout motor fail, but I figured it out myself just in case.
