Remove carpet

I want to remove the carpet from my toyhauler and replace it with something that easy to clean. I understand the slider is an issue. But is the issue the new floor will tear or just get marks from the slider? Has anyone else remove their carpet?

Several discussions on here about the same subject. Slide will damage most all floors, that is why the rv comp. Put carpet there. You can take it out, and will have to put something under the rollers of the slides to take the abuse.

I kinda figured that would happen. I am going to try some type of steel runners

They make a floor protector to help prevent floor damage.

We have the Slide Out Slickers, and they work great! Most any RV parts dealer can order them through Coast RV Distributor.

Problem solved, the carpet just gets too dirty.

Well I was hoping the problem was solved. so another question. If I just remove the carpet, will the sliders damage the flooring underneath?
