New Truck

While enroute to the Red Shoes RV Park at the Coushatta Casino on this past Thursday 'Big Red' our truck finally gave up the ghost. In the middle of nowhere (40 miles west of Beaumont, Texas in the woods) the head gasket blew causing severe engine damage. The estimate to repair was more that the truck was worth. SO.....We are now the proud owners of a brand new 2010 Ford F350 Super Duty Crew Cab 4x4 King Ranch Dually. We are breaking it in before towing our Landmark home. Tomorrow we will get the hitch installed. :D

That's one dang good looking truck Jim! I really like the color of the leather seating. Congratulations. Did your broken truck qualify for the clunker program?

Yes they were able to work it out even though it came in one a wrecker as it would still run (with rods knocking). I guess 11 years and 230000 miles made it a good truck. BTW the dealer told us the only difference between the F250 F350 and F450 is one spring leaf, one less on the F250 one more on the F450.

Nice looking truck you have there, love that KR edition. As quiet as these new diesels are we will never hear you sneaking into the campground now. See you in a couple of months.

Congrats on the new truck Jim! Don't you just love that King Ranch interior? We were actually looking for an F350 when we got ours new pickup last year, but one look at the King Ranch we have now and we were hooked. We added a spring set to our F250 to give it the same payload as the F350 (actually we have just a little more).

Nice looking ride, even if it is a f.o.r.d. :D. At least your Cash for Clunkers loot won't be going to Tokyo.

OOOOOOOO, that's a purty truck!!! ;) It seems to match the Landmark fairly well. That'll get some heads turning as it goes up the road! Now you have to start buying those aftermarket goodies and dump that Cash 4 Clunkers cash back into the economy!!

I am also looking for a new truck, My DW likes the Dodge Mega cab because of the large space in the rear. I currently have a 3/4 ton 07 Dodge mega cab. Looking to buy a 2010 Dodge Mega Cab 1 Ton. However looking the spec it would only give an increase of towing limit from 12,400 to 13,500 lbs. This is still less than I need with towing the 2010 BH 2610 RE. Am I reading the Dodge specs right or am I missing something:confused:

Jim & Sheila,

Great Looking Truck !! Ya got to admit Ford likes to stand out with the paint job and plenty of chrome. Real nice interior colors !

I've been wondering how many changes will be made as we seem to be turning "Green" in the Auto world. I've been looking as well for a replacement truck.

GM now being nearly Government Motors... I decided to take the plunge as well. I wanted a dually but NOT a 4X4... that alone made it kind of difficult to locate one... but finally I was able to find one that fit our needs/desires.

Anyhow... This one should do for a few more years of being a RV Gypsy...
