4012 Slideout Wiring Change

We take our 4012 out often and found that the original collapsible plastic device with the light wiring and 120v outlet on the slide outs was poor in theory and design. On putting the slide outs in we ALWAYS had to hand position the "contraption" to clear the tires and slide out extensions. On top of that problem we experienced a blowout on one trip and the result was pulling the wires around the axles.

I ended up taking 1" angle iron and hinges to make collapsing supports that use existing brackets. Now we open and close the slides with no worries and also have addition protection from tire blowouts.

Good idea. I read your other post on the wires. Electritians use an item called a fish-kind of like a plumbers snake only much thinner. They sell them at any hardware store. They are meant to find your way through a wall, past perlins and bridging providng there was a hole there to start with.. You have to do it in staight shots.
