Woke up freezing this morning

My first thought was that I had run out of LP. The furnace seemed to be operating but the fan was not blowing. I checked the fuse panel and sure enough, the furnace fuse was blown. After replacing the fuse, it immediately blew again.

Is there any thing simple that I should check? If I take it in to the dealer, I'll most likely winterize it at the same time.

Breid, best guess is the fan motor is shorted internally or you have a B+ wire to the motor shorted to ground. It is a 12V circuit if I remember correctly. Bob

Also check for loose connections in the wiring. Heat will pop the fuse too.

This turned out to be a circuit board that shorted out, up near the AC unit.

Interesting.

Does the thermostat run through the AC board to control the furnace fan?

Yes, it does. My furnace went out recently - when we would turn the thermostat to HEAT, we would hear a relay clicking in the AC.

Good to know when you are stuck without heat and need to figure out something right now.
