Is there any websites out there that you can put in your trip and it will list campgrounds along your route? Were doing a trip next year to Charlette for the World of Outlaws finals and am looking to find a place to stay about halfway in West Virgiana for the night.

thanks

I use google maps to find citys near where I think we will need to stay and then use RVparkreview.com to find the campgrounds. I have not found something that does both.

Haven't either, however Good Sam's Trip Planner software comes in about as close as you can get.

By using Google Maps.... or Yahoo Maps.... selecting the location you are heading to... type in the Business search line... RV Parks... or Campgrounds...

You will be surprised at the number that come up.

You can always go on Woodalls web site and do an on line search... no need to be a member to look at their listings.

You can also go to Passport America site and do a search...

Good Luck !

Thanks for the info. Thats a great resource. If someone wonts to make some money on webistes one that shows the sites on a route would be a good one to do.

also be aware of not listed ones

A lot of them are not listed, the owner/operator. Goverment, private etc.
are not listed as some cost to put into sites, some are club listed only, other are not interested in everyone knowing of there exsistance.

we traveled a lot yrs ago with my parents and we found cg's that where not in any books, atlas, even on maps.
Either did not want the money or some other reason

I have used two different versions of the Good Sam Trip Planner and found that it works very well. I planned a lengthy trip from California to see the fall colors in New England and this year used the newest version to plan our trip to Alaska. It provides a route and when you want to stop for the night it lists many, if not all, of the private and public campgrounds at that location.

If you want to stop at a wallmart get the wallmart locator book. call ahead to make sure they allow overnight parking . The book has all the phone numbers and location off the freeway.

http://www.aboutus.org/WalmartLocator.com I just checked this site and it appears you cant buy this book anymore
