Air Bed Repair

Just in time for the holidays and company our air bed has sprung a leak...Looks to be on one of the thermal seams so patching may not do the trick.

I hate to admit it but the patch kit is a bit confusing. There are two round pieces, one matches the top velour surface the other is black vinyl like the sides and bottom. There is a small instruction paper with clear plastic and a small tube of cement. (those Chinese are so inventive!!)

The instructions say "remove the vinyl patch from the paper backing and press firmly over hole"

There is no mention of the cement. The only paper backing are the instructions on the clear vinyl.

Not one to follow instructions I used the cement and the black vinyl patch, now I'm waiting the required 20 minutes before inflating.

Has anyone patched one of these mattresses?

yes, I have, and i did just as you did, don't know what the tube is for other than a "smoother" to smear the cement around a bit and work some of the cement into the hole. it has held up good since the patching.
