Visiting Death Valley

Gray, dreary, rainy northwest weather has finally driven me bonkers. I've decided to head south to the desert for a couple of weeks. No reservations, no real plans, but would like to spend a couple of nights in Death Valley. Never been there before. Any advice on where to camp, what to see?

I got all excited when I saw DEATH VALLEY. I was hoping someone needed info on LSU 's TIGER STADIUM in Baton Rouge--only the best home to college football in the nation.;)

Was just in death valley, not camping, landscape is bleak. There was national park camping. Basically a natural parking lot, but some interesting sights at places, the devils golfcourse, the lowest terrain in the western hemisphere, 282 feet below sea level.

If you want to stay in Death Valley, I suggest not going on a weekend. It is a very popular place this time of year. You can do reservations online for the park, we are going in March. Check out rv.net there are lots of posts about camping in Death Valley.
