Water heater anode

I had a lilttle trouble removing my anode to winterize. Planned to get a socket to make it easier. Can someone please post up the size. It will be much easier to put back in with a socket rather than an adjustable wrench. Headed to California next week for chapter rally.

Thanks

1 1/16 deep and an extention and away you go. That is one thing that was a change from the old rig. It did not have an anode rod and the plug was plastic. Did not need a socket. Now with the socket and ext I do not mind the drain.
