Changes to Emailing a Forum Member

Hi gang,

In order to reduce the possibility of someone joining this forum for the purpose of harvesting email addresses for spam use, I have made a change to the forum.

If you want to email another forum member, you will no longer see their email address and copy/paste it into your email client. You will now get an email form to use. Just add a subject line and type your message into the body of the form and click Send.

Your email will be delivered to the user to the email address they are using in their forum profile. When they receive your email, they will see "your" email address. When they Reply to your email, their reply will be sent to "your" email address. When they reply to you, it will come directly from them. At that point, you will have their email address.

To recap, unless a user has included their email address in their signature or in one of their posts, you will no longer "see" other users email addresses.

This is no way affects your ability to communicate with other users via email since you will be automatically given a form for email use. Once you have a user's email address, whether you use your own email client or the form via the forum to communicate with them will be your choice.

Thank you,

Jim
