Jim is exactly right about Buckhorn Lake RV Resort and Guadalupe River RV Resort. Either one of these are great parks. We have stayed at both and have had a good time at either one.

We looked at all of our listed campgrounds in Kerrville a couple of months ago. The Guadalupe River Resort is very, very nice, but a bit pricey to us.

We also looked at the Kerrville-Schreiner State Park there. It costs a little bit less, of course, but the layout and the area were very nice. If we had stayed in that area longer, we would have opted to stay there for a week or so. We don't really benefit from paying for amenities such as pools, hot tubs and playgrounds since our interests usually keep us busy elsewhere. We just like having a clean, level site in an area where we feel safe. The State Park is worth a look. It had a fair price and didn't have any hidden "day use" fees that they try to sneak in on you in some state parks.

I believe the Johnson Creek RV Resort is the one that's pretty far north of the main town in a pecan grove. It was also interesting to us, but was too far out of town for our needs at that time. If you're more interested in the "wildlife", then "townlife", this might be a nice place to check out.

Kerrville is a beautiful part of Texas and worth exploring, if you ask me.
