Hot water heater

Hot water works fine with propane, but appears that it's not working electrically. Hot water switch lights up in the rig, but I noticed that there is an on/off switch at the water heater itself. Does this switch have to be in the same position as if you were using propane?

This is for a 2011 3055 Bighorn. Any help would be appreciated.

The switch at the heater itself must be on to use the electric element. You don't ever have to turn it off, except as a safety precaution when you drain the hot water tank. It does not affect your ability to use propane. Its' there to keep you from burning out the electric element by inadvertantly turning it on with a dry tank.
