Cleaning/maintaining aluminum wheels on 3055 Bighorn

My wheels get more and more corroded as time passes even though I wax them from time to time. 2 questions: 1) can I do anything to get the original finish back and 2) what other than TECH WAX can I put on them to insure that they won't get any worse?

It appears that the etching or whatever it is - is in a clear coat of some kind. But I still am not sure how to fix and prevent!

Patrick, is the pitting/etching being caused by salt on the roads?? I removed the hard water spots from my wheels with a wet "Mr. Clean" white scrubbing pads. They don't scratch the finish. They will even take the discoloring of the white plastic side moldings on your trailer.
