Well I have been slowly getting the Augusta ready for the new season. Very exciting. I really like my new slam doors but quickly got scared enough to add a chain to the off-doorside side swing slam door to keep the wind from swinging it too far and messing things up. Check out my pics. I just tonight added shrink wrap tubing to the chain to keep it from scratching up the paint on the inside of the door.

Mark; Mor-ryde put hydralic shocks on mine when I had the doors installed, they work real good except the one on the propane door is too strong. JON

Hey Jon,
Ya, I think I may look into that in 2011 when we have our National Rally in Goshen. I intend to get those gas struts added along with getting the front storage door replaced with a MorRyde door.

Wharton; Mor-ryde makes the slam-doors used on the 2010 and 2011 Bighorn and Landmarks. Marc and I have upgraded our compartment doors to the Mor-rydes on our 2009's. Jon

Wharton,
The MorRyde doors are made from aluminum and are a bit heavier and much more robust than the doors that I used to have that were, in my case, swollen from water damage and you could see the swelling on the outside of the door (pics below). If you look at the new brochures of the 2011 Landmark and Bighorn you will see the new MorRyde slam baggage doors. They are very nice and I am really happy with mine. I will be adding another at some later time.

Mark, you may want to consider changing out your chain for one that allows for some give. Screen doors usually have a chain with a serial spring that prevents a static jerk if your door gets away from you in the wind. If the jerk is strong enough it might pull out the mount(s).
