Yorky tries to dig her way through the screen door

We just picked up our 2011 Bighorn 3670RL yesterday (cleared inspection in Elkhart on 4-20). I'll be replacing the screen in the door in no time if we can't protect the door from her claws. Someone suggested a sheet of plexiglass cut to size that would be screwed onto the frame of the door. Wondered if there was any other ideas to resolve.

Actually, our 2010 screen door has slots on the edge of the screen. A thin sheet of plexiglass fits in the slots just fine - no screws. It will flex just enough to fit in.

I purchased an aluminum screen door guard at one of the Big Box stores and used SS rivets to attach it...it's kept my Beagles from damaging the screen.

Good Luck!

You can replace the light screen material with a "pet safe" fiberglass screen material. Since it is thicker, you'll have to use a smaller spline around the screen to hold it in.

Our screen door on our stick home has lasted over ten years. Just replaced the original screen on our Bighorn after ten weeks in Arizona this winter.
