Two helpful Web Tools for getting TV Signals.

Many times I've raised the RV's Over the Air Antenna, looked out the window to see if I can see where others have pointed the Antenna, moved it to where I "Think" I'll find the local channels... only to find I get one or two but not all I had hoped for. We also have DishNetwork service as well. They are not always willing to allow us to get local TV Channels over the dish (because we are in an RV) if the local channels are available in the area we're at. Depends on which Customer Service person I was lucky to reach, some are quite helpful and others are determined we are not qualified to use that service. One would think they would be pleased to increase the monthly bill for the added channels ?!?!?

I have found two different web sites that are a helpful tool for getting TV Signals. One for when we aim the RVs Antenna. The second is for aiming any one of a number of Satellite Dishes.

TV Fool Web Link> http://www.tvfool.com/

This site has a link listed under their "TOOLS" called " TV Signal Locater

Link> http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29

Put in either an Address or put in GPS Coordinates for the location your interested in getting Over the Air TV Signal for. It will provide information on TV Signals for different stations in the area. Several options are also included and can be used All Channels - Only Digital - Only Analog are choices. click on each station listed will give more detailed information. This site sure is helpful when we travel.

Dish Pointer Web Link> http://www.dishpointer.com/

This site covers Satellites and is helpful when we are planning our next move. I can use their MAP to pinpoint the RV park we are going too. If I have the RV parks Campgrounds Map, I often can see the best site for getting a Satellite Signal for our Dish500 System. The Dish Pointer Map also has an Option that when checked, will give the height of an obstacle and the distance away from that obstacle I need to be to get a signal from the Satellite I have selected from their pull down menu.

Hope these are helpful for others. Happy Camping !!
