I enjoyed this during the Colorado rally in May 2010. It was made by Chapter Leaders Bob and Marion Wengler.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 3 pound London Broil cut of beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano

Steps

  • Add beef and all marinade ingredients into a gallon size Ziploc freezer bag, remove air and seal
  • Put bag in refrigerator for up to 24 hours and flip bag every couple of hours
  • Prepare barbecue grill to medium heat, remove beef from bag and grill until internal temperature is 140 degrees (medium rare), flipping only once
  • Remove to platter and let beef rest 10 minutes
  • Slice thinly across grain and serve

My favorite beef marinade is:
1/4 cup Italian Salad dressing
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Soy sauce
1/4 cup Bourbon

Put the meat in a ziploc bag, pour in the mix and let it sit in the fridge all day (squeeze the extra air out before sealing). When ready to BBQ, drain the juice into a saucepan and boil it for 5 minutes. Use it to baste as the meat grills. For extra enjoyment, pour some bourbon into the cook while grilling.

Joseph,

The recipe is from the Wenglers at the rally and the picture, I got from the Internet using a Google image search :)

When Bob and Marion made it for me, it was wonderful. When I made it, it was just okay.
