Open Road Tolling on IL Tollway - OK for RVs!

Not sure if many of you Illinois RVers saw this but with the new Open Road Tolling (ORT) plazas on the Illinois Tollway in and around the Chicago area, RVs (and campers, boats and other trailers) can now use these fast lanes with their existing IPASS transponders.

This has already saved me time by not waiting in the long cash lines to use my IPASS and have the extra axles debited to my account.

Here's a quote from the Tollway website:

RVs, trailers can use ORT lanes

I-PASS users traveling in an RV or those who are towing a boat, camper or trailer can also use the new ORT lanes, so they do not need to wait in manual cash lanes at these plazas. The new ORT lanes automatically calculate and deduct the proper toll. I-PASS users should have their accounts updated to include the license plates of their trailers and RVs, as well as their cars.

And here's a link to the page that information is on.

Happy trails.
