Reed Bingham State Park in Georgia

While visiting a friend around Atlanta Georgia a friend suggested that we stay at a campground in Reed Bingham State Park when we went south to Florida.

If your on your way to Florida Keys like we are you might stop at this camp ground on your way.

We stayed in site #34 and it was nice. There is no concrete but the site is large and level. Only down side is a lot of sand, but that can't be helped. Sand is all over this area.

Reed Bingham State Park was one of our two great surprise parks last summer (Oscar Shearer State Park, Venice FL our second!). We've lived in GA most of our lives but never thought to visit there. The State Park Paddler's Club required a kayak trip to the park. The campground was typical of GA State Parks. We loved the river and lake areas. After kayaking down the river to the State Park, one of the rangers drove us back to the put-in to retrieve our truck. We were very pleased to see how much the community was using the park. At least two different school groups were there on two days. We talked with many fishermen fishing in the lake. They lived in the area but enjoyed the atmosphere within the park. People were always there but we never felt crowded. It was very peaceful!

Yep.. We enjoyed it also. There is a lot of room. If we get around here again we will probably stay here again.

If you pass it by you will miss a nice place.
