cant give you any specs but on our old 3055 we put on a memory foam mattress and when getting into the storage it would not stay up with out help. But, we hardly ever put anything under there like I thought we would.

Duane,

The Gas Struts under our bed are called Master Lift. They are made by Stabilus Corp.

Here is their Link: http://www.stabilus.com/home.html

The ones I have are 20 inches long extended. As for the weight they hold, I couldn't see the model number but I did find the company makes two different weight levels for this strut.

> Model # - Extended Length - Force - Rod/Tube Size

# 5768 RK 20.00" - 2-Stage Inter-stop - 80 Lbs. - 8mm x 18mm

# 5769 RE 20.00" - 2-Stage Inter-stop - 60 Lbs. - 8mm x 18mm

Here is a Retail Site to purchase:

Make sure you get all the needed parts. Struts, Ball Studs & Brackets.

Hope this helps.

Call Heartland Customer service and they can tell you. Have your vin ready.

Well Jim, if I did that customer service would think I'm nuts, 'cause Cyclones don't come with underbed storage ;)

Sure does. The length is what I needed, I figured on starting with the 80 pound set.

Duane, on my old TT I put two more gas struts on to support the added bed weight. I purchased the least expensive ones (i.e. cheapest) ones I could find and the added support worked fine. I actually had 4 gas shocks when all was said and done, the 2 oem supplied struts and the 2 I added.

Please help- We just brought our HL Sundance 3100ES home and lifted the bed to clean and start putting stuff in storage but it is locked in the up position. I don't want to force it down to lower it. Is there a unlock button or something we need to do to unlock the strut? It's the weekend and our dealer is closed. thanks. -Al

Gas struts don't typically have a lock button. I know with ours it takes a bit of oomph to push the bed back down.

Codah, like John said, they take a bit of push to collapse the cylinders. If you feel something just isn't going to give, you can always pop one end of the strut off of the bracket. Have the wife hold up the bed while doing this of course.
It sounds like the brackets may be mounted incorrectly. You might have to remount the brackets so that the bed is at a lesser angle when opened.

Smokeybare, This is really good info, thanks. I too would like to add struts to my North Trail's underbed storage because right now we have to use the two person method (I open and hold and DW loads/unloads). I just cannot visualize how the struts need to be mounted so I can't figure out what other parts I need. Could you possibly put a picture of one of the mounted studs up? Thanks, Mike

We have a small safe mounted under the bed to store things like our passports and other valuables we need to lock up.

Those were standard equipment on Landmarks and Bighorns until ours came out. I'm glad in a way. The extra weight dontcha know...

I called it a safe but it really just a small metal box that locks. No weight to it at all.
