adding a hitch on the back

We have a 2011 265 sundance. I want to have a hitch installed on the back so I can
put a platform for the genarater. My question is will it void my warranty for the RV.

According to everything said on this forum adding a hitch on the rear will void the FRAME warranty. The frame is warrantied by Lippert.

we have a 2009 2900mk sundance I installed a Curt receiver on the bumper and the bike rack works well on 2 inch receiver. 300 lb weight limit. buckeyebob

Any deviation to the frame will void the warranty of the frame. However, we do have a lot of customers that install a hitch on the I-beams. Our bumbers only have a 150lb weight limit. It is not recommended to put a reciever hitch on the bumper.

Lippert has a hitch available but it can't carry very much(I think 300#). Should be OK for a generator.

In keeping with the 150 lb weight limit, I clamped a 2in. receiver on the bumper for a couple of bikes. Put a set screw in the hitch to take out the wiggle (or banging) and it travels much better.
