Range hood fan speed control

The range hood exhaust fan (12vdc) in my 2009 3300sk is very noisy. Is there a replacement switch that can change the fan from single speed to variable speed?
Anyone have any suggestions?
AC dimmers do not work.

nugget, maybe THIS would work.
To make your fan variable speed with a switch involves more than just a switch. The motor windings are different than a single speed.

I bought the largest computer cooling fan I could find and replaced the noisy fan with the PC fan. Much Better. The trick is coming up with a suitable mounting. Once I had it all apart it was really very easy to mount. Sorry to say, no pictures.

I've not done this yet, but I did the measuring, a Standard 30 inch Kitchen range hood could replace the one that came with the RV.

For power, tap a line off the Microwave outlet. The typical low cost kitchen range hood has a little more depth, which would really help reach out for the front burner. Even a budget range hood's 110 Volt AC motor will be no more noisy than the 12 Volt DC motor that runs the vent.
