Super Slide II vs DIY tray

Alright I'm considering a sliding tray for my basement. A 60" Super slide II with 35" trim kit will fit. Only problem, how deep is the actual tray?

As a carpenter/fabricator I can build a slide using 60" Accuride full extension drawer slides.

My issue is the Super slide II is $385.67, the Accuride $331.05 which means even with shipping and additional required parts the DIY version will cost more but be capable or 200 additional lbs, as well as being a fully custom unit.

So assuming the Super slide isn't a height waster (19" available) It would be the cheaper route.

My last concern is either needs a lock of some sort.

Any advice?

Cheers

All of the slides on our fire rigs have some type of lock retracted and extended.
Most of the commercial slides I looked at, super slide included wasted too much space for me. If I ever add a slide it will be using the Accuride drawer slides and make the try fit the compartment.

Since you have the skills I think you will be pleased with the results of DIY.
