I have a new fifth wheel, I want to make it a dual battery setup, the factory battery placement has a vented case on it, has anyone put duals in, and how did you do it. Did you vent the added battery? Thanks for any replies

I have added a second battery to our 35dsrl. Remove present battery box, install two pieces of 3/4in angle iron and a piece of 3/4in plywood and use battery trays to keep the batteries from moving. The batteries will need to be hooked up in parallel for 12volt. This all is done in the same compartment where the single battery was installed from factory.

I am not familiar with your battery compartment. Can you post a picture? Also, are you asking how to parallel them or just looking for placement ideas? Here is a great illustration of series and parallel configurations. This is for 6 volt batteries but the concept is the same for 12 volt. battery series parallel.gif
