What precautions should be taken to store our Sundance Fifth Wheel at a storage lot in event of hurricane. We are on east coast of Florida. It's in an asphalt lot, pretty high and no trees around. We thought we might use those augers and tie down the axels and maybe the tow pin. Or else go over the top, which would also tie down the solar panels and AC. Is this a good idea? How hard will it be to drill into the asphalt? How do you secure the straps? any other precautions we should take? Thanks for any thoughts.

How about hooking up and evacuating if possible. Then you bring your shelter with you and it will be safe. We had our Landmark sitting in the driveway next to the house during Rita and Ike. We had 105 mph winds here and it did fine. Only the wind was blowing from front to back and back to front not at the sides. BTW we did have the slides in and the rear stablilzers down. Some people I know hook it up to their tow vehicle to give it more stability. But the bottom line is if the storm is severe enough the only safe thing to do is evacuate with it.
