Does anyone know how to make sure all items running off battery power are off during storage. Clock on the radio is always on. Pulled the fuse but then a red LED goes on. I've been meaning to investigate a switch that goes in the battery box and turns off all DC. Haven't investigated it yet but think it's probably sold at a marine store. Thanks.

The best thing to do during storage is to disconnect the battery either by removing the battery or installing a battery disconnect. There are several 'phantom' loads such as CO detectors etc. Failure to disconnect the battery will discharge it in a day or two.

Battery disconnect switch is best. That way it is a quick shut off wether you are storing if for a few days or weeks. I used to mess with disconnecting the cable, but it is nice to just switch it off and on. You will never be able to shut down all phantoms loads like the lp detecter and such. Here is the switch I have. These run about $25 to $30. I thought I might like being able to shut off one battery or the other, but I honestly don't use that feature. You can get simple cutoff switches that attach directly to the battery terminal for only a few bucks.
