Generator fuel pump

I hear the fuel pump running most of the time while the generator is running. I can't recall hearing this before, but is this normal or do I need to check the fittings again?

Usually you don't hear the fuel pump over the noise of the engine on the generator. I would suspect a fuel or electric line vibrating against something. Probably a broken tie strap or cable clamp.

The fuel pump always runs when the generator is on. When air is in the fuel line, you'll hear a fast clicking. Once the line is primed the pump gets so quiet it's hard to tell if it is working even with the generator not running (when priming)

If the pump is always making that fast clicking sound, I would think that somehow air is getting into your fuel line. Maybe check and make sure all the connections are tight.
