Canadians Note - Insurance Coverage on Tow Vehicles

Just discovered from my Insurance agent that if we are out of country for more than 30 days, we must let the Insurance company know and they will put on a 50% surcharge onto your policy. Otherwise, you are not covered. I scanned my policy and that is not mentioned anywhere. You might want to check with your companies if you are unaware of this wrinkle. Our RV is covered normally up to 4 months, then we must notify the company we are going to be longer and again there is a surcharge (using unit more than normal use ie. like a full timer). This would also apply for a car or a toad.

We were talking about this with other folks and this triggered my call to my agent, it was a surprise for quite a few of us.../Doug
