Has anyone had problems with the door covering the fuel pump rotting from the inside out on their Cyclone?
I have not used the pump for quite some time, not at all this year, but I needed to remove some fuel in the tank yesterday, and upon opening the fuel pump door, I found it had begun to rot on the inside of the door. The door is pretty much eaten away on the inside, but looks fine from the outside.
Looking in the fuel pump compartment, the area is not totally sealed, I imagine to vent any fumes, but I did not see any residue of water or dirt. So, would gas fumes cause the decay of the inner door side?
Now I am looking for a replacement door, so will contact my dealer.
