Thanks for joining the Heartland Owners Chapter Leaders Team. All though it will be a little work, I'm sure you will have fun and you can get any help you need from the other chapter leaders. If any of the moderators can help, just ask.

We are all Heartlanders.

Wow...that was a whirlwind of events! Ask a simple question (how do we get a WA Chapter) and the next thing I know...Chapter Leader! Reminds me of missing a staff meeting only to find out you were appointed head of some committee while away.

Anyway, thank you all for the welcome and support. Hopefully you will feel the same way after we work at this for awhile. :) We are happy to help with what we can and hope to meet your expectations.

Please feel free to PM us with ideas, suggestions, whatever!

Have a great weekend!

Steve, you obviously have a bad memory ( a chapter leader requirement) because I remember you you volunteering for this position...that was right before you said you would buy everyone a new landmark...Don't tell me you forgot that too?

I know I have the invoice for my Landmark around here somewhere...

Oh well, I'll locate it later; meanwhile, congratulations for accepting the position of Chapter Leader. You'll have a lot fun and meet a lot of great people.

Yippee...a Washington Club. We are here too. Thank you for starting. We would love to be able to get to a Rally some day. Newbies to this forum and newbies to 5th wheel owning. I need to change my signature as I now have a pretty little red F-150 to pull the pontoon boat while hubby has the grey F-350 to pull our Heartland.

Hello Teresa!

Thank you for the welcome! We often stay in Twisp in the summer months and usually make our way to Omak for a few days to shop and maybe have lunch at that little casino.

Hopefully you received a PM with a short survey you can take online with some very basic questions about a future WA rally! Since you are new to the forum you may not have been on the list yet! Let me know if you didn't get the survey link and I will PM it to you!

Best Wishes!

Yes, I did get the PM. That is how I found you. I will go and do the survey (sorry - forgot). I grew up in Twisp. Where do you like to camp in Twisp?

We just got our Big Country Heartland this spring and was hoping of a summer filled with camping...we thought we would start with our own backyard (the entire state) and see what we have been missing all this time. Well the F350 decided to die at the end of June...The EGR thingy died....and the shop refused to go right to the EGR, they went and "fixed" all these other things they thought was the problem. Well, middle of August we finally got it fixed (EGR replaced - I think that is what it is called - EGR). So with 3 kids we had little time to do any camping as school and high school football was getting ready to start. We got to go out about 6 times this year.

Have you ever camped in the Okanogan area (Omak, Tonasket, etc)? Conconully is beautiful state park. Further up the road is Salmon Meadows with plenty of space for a big 5th wheel (ours is 33 ft). Bonaparte is a wonderful/beautiful lake. At this point we have only really done state parks....I like full hook up...I am spoiled.

I hope it's that easy! I hear all sorts of stories about having to do fundraisers (I do enough of that with my high school band :) ) and planning day activities for all the members etc. I'm working on it...but I will be picking your brain I'm sure!

Thanks much!

We like to camp at Riverbend RV Park. Nice quiet location next to the Methow River. Wife and I tether some "River Rat" tubes to a rock anchor and lay in the river all day. You can see one of our camp sites by viewing the Album photos in my Profile page. Riverbend is close to Twisp proper (Hanks Market and the Famers Market during the summertime). It's close to Winthrop, Bear Creek Golf Course, Lake Pearrygin etc. Only 40 minutes to Omak...beautiful drive, by the way!

We are always looking for new places to camp! We shy away from State parks now that we have a 38'+ rig. We stayed at some with our previous SOB which was only 29' ine slide, and it was very tight! Usually the sites were big enough but the access roads were difficult to negotiate and usually filled with low hanging trees! Our daughter loves Conconully State Park and tent camps there with her friends. No doubt about the area beauty!! From what I can find out about Salmon Meadows is it has 7 RV sites, no reservations, no sewer etc. Still, I would like to see it in person!

At this point we have only really done state parks....I like full hook up...I am spoiled.

Once you start doing the Full Hook-up thing you do get spoiled! We are the same way. I am noticing that it is an important issue to those that have completed the Survey also!

We have not been to a lot of places in our home state but a few... Not far from us is Bayview State Park and Pioneer Trails. We like Pioneer Trails. Big sites and you can choose treed or not. It's close to the Anacortes Ferry to the San Juans, Deception Pass State Park, Swinomish Casino, several golf courses and quaint tourist towns like LaConner. Birch Bay is just down the road from us but not really suited to big rigs although some people do it. We have stayed at Silverline in Winthrop. Beebe Bridge Park in Chelan is a really nice place but again, no reservations. We definitely have a list of places we plan to visit! Lots to choose from here in Washington.

Best Wishes!

I know exactly where Riverbend trailer park is at. It is beautiful along there. Last time I was headed to Winthrop (few months ago) I saw 3 or 4 coyotes playing acros the river from the Riverbed. You can lots of times see some really big deer in that area too. I used to know the rancher who owned the property across the river from The Riverbend, not sure if he still does or not.

We get our 33' into Conconully state park, I think some of them you could get a 38'. but there are only a few semi-full hookups. They do not have sewer. Regarding Salmon Meadows, we drove up to see if there was anywhere we could take our trailer and there are quite a few "un-official" camp spots, but it is totally dry camp. We did not get to BeeBee bridge this year (the truck problems), but we did get to Lincoln Rock, outside of Wenatchee. That is a very nice spot too. Next year we hope to do a lot more. We have checked out parks in the Dryfalls area (towards Moses and Soap Lake), seemed nice. And because we had a swimmeet, we went to Yakima and stayed at the park they have there. It actually was okay. We talked about renting a motel, but I would rather have my own space and my stuff (my RV). We met some very nice people there too. Since I grew up in Twisp and Winthrop, I do not know if I will ever go camping over there....there are a lot of other WA places I would like to go see.

I am sure we will end up meeting at one some day.

Good night all, just got back from high school football game...Omak vs. Tonasket...we kicked tushy....48 to 20.
