Additional Info:

NOTE: (UPDATE-0 RESERVED SITES LEFT ) You can possibly still get in the campground, but not necessarily right with the group. The campground is not huge so you will not be very far away from us no matter where they can put you. Please call the campground to see if there are sites available. The park is located just northwest of Williamsburg off Interstate 64, Exit 231a (Croaker Road). Nearby attractions include: Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens Amusement Park, Water Country USA, Jamestown, Yorktown Victory Park, and more. The Rally rate is good for early arrival or departure. Contact the Chapter Leader, Gus Funderburg (g_funderburg@yahoo.com) for any questions.

Hudson has "volunteered" to lead a group trip to Busch Gardens on Sat, May 14 for anyone who wants to go. We'll firm up departure time, travel arrangements, etc as we get closer to the rally date. This will be a "Pay your own way" event. Check out http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/Purchase/tickets.aspx for pricing information. I believe the campground has tickets available with a small discount.
Of course, other historic and fun places are located nearby, so those will also be available for your touring pleasure.

When you make your reservation, PLEASE send me an email or post a message in this thread so I can keep track of who is coming - THANKS! I will try to keep a running list of attendees posted here:

Underwear; shoes; socks; hats; OK you get the point.

If you have bicycles, bring them. National battlefields are close by and very bicycle friendly

AND, for the ladies that like to shop, lots of shopping close by.

GUS: I know that, unless we are out of town for some reason, we will be there.

Jim - no RED coats - PERIOD! You may bring a blue one if you have one. Mike, you are welcome, even with the Big Red Truck. Pete, if you come, you will be out of town! Jason, it'll be good to see you again. Deb - let's keep our fingers crossed that we don't need any coats - of course, the last time we were there we did have a big bonfire on a 103 degree day!

As of now, unless we get a better offer (and, I can't imagine what it could be) the Hills would consider it an honor to attend! Can't have anyone talking about us unless we can be there to hear it.........

We will be there if it's not the customer appreciation weekend for Chesapeake RV Solutions. Will be camping the next two weekends in VA Beach.

Can't make this one Gus. Jim's son is graduating from PSU. We will be camping up at Penn State. Would love to be there...but Jim's waited 5 years for this son to graduate (engineering school). See you in NJ!

With all these early rally plans There may be no spots left for us by the time I get to pick my vacation - and I get to start picking it in December

Unfortunately, it is a real problem. Unless we lock in a campground early, they (the CG's) can't guarantee us spots, or in some cases even a particular weekend. And having a rally in a popular spot exacerbates the problem. It sometimes becomes a win-lose situation. You get a good campground and a good date, but sites are limited. Hope you and Deb can attend. Although we only have 25 guaranteed sites close together, the CG will still accept reservations at the rally rate for any other spots they have remaining.
