Shocks on Pinehurst suspension

Before leaving Canada to travel to Florida for the winter I was inspecting the shock absorbers on my Landmark and was surprised to find the rubber gromets on all four shocks
to be cracked and severily worn. The Landmark is an 09 with approximately 5000 miles
with mostly interstate driving.Called Lippert and they suggested installing a new gromet
kit with a part cost of $6.13 per shock and of course I would have to pay for the install.
Has anyone else have this problem?I was so dissappointed to find this problem on such a new unit.

Hello Birchwood,
I went out and checked my 2009 Pinhurst with 6000 miles, All my gromets look good with just a little cracking and no ware. I'm surpised to find them in good shape after reading your thread. I have only traveled in the Southern States without a load.

With basic mechanical knowledge they should be an easy fix that you could do yourself.
