Additional Info:
APRIL 8th and 9th

To all the new and OLD Socal club members. This is our 3rd spring rally. It will be held at Canyon RV Park in Anaheim where our 1st "ever" rally was held.

We will have a pot luck on Saturday afternoon...the 9th.

I will be posting more information in the coming weeks..........SO stay tuned.

To reserve your site...please contact Canyon RV Park directly. Please do not send your money to me. Pay the CG when you reserve your site. After you reserve your site please post on this thread what nites and the site #.

Patty and I will provide BBQ Ribs and Chicken for the Potluck. We will also provide the drinks, plates, silverware (plastic), napkins, soda's ETC.

As for the side dishes...we need salads, bean or potato dishs and desserts.

Since the CG has fire rings...if anyone has old wood laying around, please bring it. We will get some store bought stuff also.

As of today we have a special treat for everybody coming to the rally. Dan Johnson, the GM of the Giant RV store in Montclair is bring 4 new Heartland coaches to the rally. Dan will be there in person and wants to help us with the "meet and greet". He is also bringing some door prizes. SO....I think we should hold a raffle at the same time. I would like everyone attending the rally to bring a unwrapped gift worth $15.00. It can be RV related or maybe just something someone could use. Games are always good or games that can be played in the grass. As stated before, Patty and I will be providing snacks and drinks for the "meet and greet".

Well the weatherman is saying that we might get some rain. Well don't let that deter you. The 1st ever Socal rally was at Canyon RV park and it rained. With our 2 "easy ups" we had a ball. Pat and I are planning to provide a breakfast on Saturday morning for everyone. I was told that I am in charge of the scrambled egg's. Patty is making sausage roll's with gravy. If we can figure out how the make enough toast and keep it warm, we will do it. We are bringing plenty of jelly, butter and OJ. An extra toaster might help if anyone has one. We will discuss the time with everyone on Friday.

Dan Johnson from Giant RV is bring some eats and some libation's for the "meet and greet" on Saturday.

Well the Spring Socal Rally has come and gone. I want to thank all the people than came to share this fun time with us.

We had 5 Club members and 2 SOB's. We had 2 members cancel at the last moment and hope that all is well with them. I hope they can join us in the fall for that rally. We also had Dan Johnson from Giant RV bring 4 new HL coaches for us and anyone in the CG to view. Dan and his salesmen had plenty of lookers in the 2 days they were there.

The weather was a little iffy on Friday with rain and hail in the evening. Saturday was cool and windy. The "meet and greet" on Saturday was fun, lots of food and Dan had a raffle for all the rally members. Lots of great prizes were handed out. The pot luck was great. More food that anyone could eat. Even the salesmen from Giant could not eat it all. Ever seen car salesmen eat?? I have and they will eat the table cloth if you put BBQ sauce on it. LOL

Sunday morning Patty made breakfast for everyone. Sausage rolls with gravy, biscuits with butter and jelly, scrambled eggs (2 dozen), orange juice and coffee. Now if anyone was still hungry after that..that's there fault. HL owners can sure eat. After the feeding fenzy was over we had the raffle. Everybody brought nice prizes to raffle off. All in all, we all had a wonderful time. Now if I can find where Patty hid the camera...I will post some pix.

Roy and I are in. We are in space 125. See you there!

01-17-2011, 06:37 PM
So can we assume it is Fri. 4/8 & Sat. 4/9, leaving on 4/10? It says 4/8 to 4/9. Thanks

01-17-2011, 10:25 PM
Trace, you hit the nail on the head. I think check out time is 12 noon. You can come earlier in week and stay longer if you wish. Just make the arrangements with the CG.

01-17-2011, 11:35 PM
We would love to join in on this rally, but we are already committed to something else on 4/9. Sorry guys. Thanks for the invite. :-(

01-18-2011, 12:09 AM
We are not yet members of the Owner's club. Are we supposed to join prior to the Ralley?

01-18-2011, 05:22 PM
Larry and Jodi, no you really do not have to be a member to come to the rally. You could join now or at the rally, it's up to you. The HL Owners Club has some perks and if you join before the rally you will have your name badges. JB sends sends them with your plaque and the other stuff in the Owners package just so you don't forget who you are. Some of us are OLD.

01-18-2011, 05:26 PM
Laurie, I think you mentioned that before......so...we will meet up at some point soon. We do normally have a fall rally also.

01-18-2011, 05:28 PM
Bob & Patty,

We are planning on the June Goshen trip, will you be there?

01-18-2011, 10:55 PM
Laurie, no...we can't make the Goshen rally. We have be go to ND in July for Pats moms 90th BDAY. We will going to the 2012 rally at Gillette Wy.

01-20-2011, 08:31 PM

01-29-2011, 12:12 PM
Welcome Tom and Marla, great that you can join us. Did you sign up on line or did you call the CG?? If you called the CG...they should have confirmed the site at that time. Send me a PM with your last name and I will make it happen. Bob

01-31-2011, 10:38 AM
:cool:Hey BOB, Do we need to post what side dishes we are going to bring are just wing it. Looking forward to meeting all the new members.:)

01-31-2011, 03:20 PM
MARTY...PEACH COBBLER FOR ONE..........ME. It might not be a bad idea, that way we don't have 50# of potato salad.

02-01-2011, 01:28 PM
BOB&PATTY,Carol and i will be in space 109 from 4-7 till 4-11. tell us what you need. are we having steak and lobster like last year. FLOYD

02-01-2011, 02:51 PM
Hi Floyd, well anything is possible. We will need some side dishes for the pot luck.

02-01-2011, 04:11 PM
We should be able to bring some firewood.

02-08-2011, 02:52 PM
Larry or Jodi, we will pick up some bundles of firewood also.

As we get closer to the rally date....if I could get everybody to post what they might be bringing for the potluck for a side dish or dessert. This way we don't end up with alot of just one item. BTW, when you are making your side dish....don't make TOOOOOO much. If you make enough to feed 20+ people....you will have lots of it left over...TRUST ME.

02-19-2011, 06:05 PM
Hey everyone, Theresa is going to bring peach cobbler:) of course, and she is going to make a baked bean dish. Looking forward to meeting everyone take care .

02-23-2011, 02:30 PM
SD, great...glad to have you. Have you joined the HL club yet?? It is a good thing with some perks for HL owners. Would you mind if I moved your site?? I'm having a little problem this year with them not putting people in the reserved sites. They should have put you in site #107...that's in the inner circle with all the rest of us. Bob

02-24-2011, 11:33 AM
Please do move us. I just did what the reservation lady suggested. Thanks. Sheri and I are still thinking over owners club. Se you in April.

02-24-2011, 04:42 PM
Consider it done.

03-01-2011, 11:15 PM
I need everybody that is signed up for the rally to read the "addition" to the 1st post with all the information.

03-03-2011, 02:47 PM
Hey Bobo~~ Read the addition and that sounds great. Will bring gift and Salad (the lettuce kind) for the Pot Luck. Let me know what else you need. Hugs and Looking forward to seeing everyone there AND seeing the new Rigs!

03-03-2011, 03:06 PM
Dena, looking forward to ya'll also.

04-04-2011, 02:05 PM
Hey Bob~! changed my mind (shock!). Since this is going to be a cool weekend, weatherwise, I'm going to bring a special Mashed Potato Dish instead of the salad. Yummy and looking foward to seeing everyone. So far, from the posts, I see the following for the potluck.
* Ribs and Chicken
* Baked Beans
* Peach Cobbler
* Mashed Potatos

Sound about right?

04-04-2011, 11:05 PM
12546Bob, Marla and I will be bringing some deserts for the event unless you can think of something else we need. We will also have a couple of Golden Retrievers to keep anyone warm at night if it gets cool. We plan on arriving sometime mid Friday.
Tom & Marla

04-05-2011, 11:09 AM
Dena, thanks for the update.....OH I think we will have plenty of food.

Patty is making a spicy corn something or other. It's just easier for me not to ask.

Tom, the weather report does not surprise me. I dont care if I plan a rally at Canyon RV Park in August it will rain a little. BUT, the 1st rally we had there it rained and we had a ball. We have 2 easy ups, so all is well. Your dessert is just fine.

04-07-2011, 04:52 PM
Sorry guys but Sheri is not feeling well at all. I just called and canceled our reservation. We were looking forward to it, maybe next time. Slight possibility we will be there on Sat but dont count on it.

04-08-2011, 04:37 PM
Bob and Patty,
We hope you have a great rally and good weather also.

Art and Teresa
