Corpus Christi Camping

We're planning to stay in Corpus Christi for a few nights on our way back north at the end of the end of the month. We'd like to stay near the gulf, and ideally be close to some restaurants. Any suggestions?

Bill, we are in Aransas Pass, just 20 miles north of Corpus Christi. There is no shortage of RV parks all along the coast. If you have a Good Sam or similar book pick a spot and check RVParkreviews.com. There are some Passport America parks around as well. And no shortage of good restaurants either. If you drive north to Rockport you can check out The Big Fisherman. Tuesday special, 11:00 to 4:00, all you can eat chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and cole slaw. $2.25. Lots of shrimp and oysters around as well. In fact we just got home from Oysterfest in Fulton. Mmm.
I don't think you can go wrong anyplace along the coast.

Peace
Dave

Bill, on the south end of Corpus Christi, Hwy 358 I believe, we used to stay at Colonia Del Rey RV Park. It's 5 minutes from mustang & Padre Island and there are many places to eat. HERE is a link to a home page.

We picked up our 2011 Landmark Rushmore about 10 days ago and absolutely love it. Hope you're enjoying yours. Ditto on Colonia del Ray. We stayed there a couple years ago. If you want a little less urban area we suggest Rockport/Fulton. We're at Woody Acres in Fulton. Good fishing, bird viewing, great people, lots of good places to eat.
