Solar Trickle Charger

Hi,

Has anyone been using a solar trickle charger? I used one on my old TT and thought it kept the batteries well maintained. Haven't installed one on the Cyclone yet and before I do, I thought I would reach out to the group for personal experiences.

What does the solar panel on top of the air conditioner do? I read that it is sort of a trickle charger for the batteries but I am unsure.

I bought one at Pep Boys. Seems to work pretty well, but wont charge a dead battery. If I remember correctly it charges at about 1/2 amp. Bob

My 15 watt solar panel on the roof of my BH has kept my two 6v batteries fully charged all winter even with up to 2' of snow half the time. The battery was disconnected from all circuits except the charger.
