Repaired my Oven pilot light hard to light

I thought I would post this with hope it will help others. Our pilot light on the oven was very difficult to light and the only way I could light it was by turning it pass pilot and lighting the gas burner. I finally decided to fix it and found the thermocouple had black smut on it, I cleaned the thermocouple and lights very easy , even Connie can light it now.

Interesting, I will have to check ours out, it's not so easy to lite.

Check the flame on the pilot light, if you are sooting up the thermal coupler, your gas mixture is too rich. Have a qualified service tech adjust it.

Important to remember, gas/oxygen mixture changes with altitude. If you set the size for the coast, won't works so well up in the mountains and would soot up. After having the mixture set for where you spend most of the time then, clean the thermocouple once and a while.
