Hole in Black Holding Tank

I found a small hole on the side of my black holding tank. Its about half way up so
sewage water only leaks when it reaches this level.Fortunately the leak is
accessible through the basement otherwise the tanks would have to be removed.
I am going to use Plasti-Mend Black to repair the leak as the company claims
its a permanent repair rather than temporary.Apparently its similar to ABS
solvents but has other properties that improve sealing the hole or crack.
Has anyone had any experience using Plasti-Mend ?

I have used a 2 part epoxy that works like body filler. It is specifically designed for working with ABS plastics and holding tanks. Just make sure it is cleaned well and roughed up well. If it is a crack, you need to drill 3/16" holes at each end of the crack to keep it from continuing. Also, if your kit comes with a piece of plastic, overlay it on your repair to reinforce it. Make sure you make your repair at least 2" bigger than the damaged area.
