Almond Sour Cream Pound Cake - Williamsburg, VA rally

This recipe is so easy! and tastes awesome!
I made this with some yummy special vanilla extract that Dick Hill gave us at Cherokee Rally and IT WAS SOOOO GOOD!

Almond Sour Cream Pound Cake
This can also be made in a 9X12 pan, adjust time of baking by how fast your oven cooks!)

1 C. (2 sticks) butter ½ tsp Baking Soda
3 C. Sugar 6 eggs
1 C. Sour Cream ½ tsp. orange extract (optional)
3 C. All purpose flour ½ tsp. Almond extract (I use 1- 1/2 tsp. almond)

Have all ingredients room temperature.

Cream butter & sugar together, add sour cream.
Sift flour and baking soda together.
Add to cream mixture alternating with eggs one at a time beating well after each addition.
Add extracts and stir to combine.
Pour into 10” tube pan – greased and floured.
Bake 1 hour 20 minutes at 325 degrees.
Cool 10 minutes

Frosting Never tried the frosting cause the pound cake is too good to cover!!!!!:p

1 ½ stick butter 3-4 cups powdered sugar
1 ½ tsp. almond extract

Cream butter in large mixing bowl, slowly beat in sugar for about 2 minutes until smooth and creamy (sweetened to your liking) Add almond extract and stir to blend.
Chill in refrig. about 10 minutes
If not using, cover and store in refrig. – bring to room temp before using.
