Port Arthur RV Resort

We have found a new (opened Oct 2010) RV park in Port Arthur, Texas. The Port Arthur RV Resort has all concrete roads and sites. This park has long sites and full hookups, 20, 30 and 50 amps. The owners and managers are great folks. There is a clean laundry with new machines. We have been working on a site map for this park and have been here almost 2 weeks. Most of the folks staying here are contract workers at the area refineries. Since this park is so new they do not yet have a clubhouse or pool but it is a great place to spend a couple of days while going to or from the Rio Grande Valley (RGV).

This park is located 12 miles south of Beaumont, Texas (population 110,000) on Hwy 365 about 12 miles east of Interstate 10. It is about 30 miles from the Louisiana casinos. Port Arthur is a city of 53000 and has plenty of shopping opportunities and fresh and salt water fishing is bountiful in the area. There is an Alligator (Gator Country) farm just down the road and the Museum of the Gulf Coast is a great museum featuring oil history, sports history and some famous musicians from the area such as Johnny Preston and Janis Joplin. Spindletop Museum (where oil was discovered) in Beaumont is 14 miles away. There are many Cajun Restaurants close by as well. On the 2nd Monday weekend there is a huge Flea Market in Winnie, Tx 18 miles away. Here is the link to the park http://www.portarthurrv.com/
