B & W companion Hitch with toolbox

I have a 08 Dodge-Mega cab and was wondering if anyone out there is using the B & W Companion Hitch with a toolbox or fuel cell. I called B & W and they said you only need 12 inches ahead of the hitch to open the jaws. My concern is will the latch handle that opens the jaws hit the tool box or fuel cell, not allowing you to hook the trailer up or get the jaws completely open. Thanks

If you want more fuel capacity, I'd look into a Titan replacement tank. In the mega cab trucks the bed gets taken up quite a bit by the hitch. That's the main reason we went with the crew cab with a long bed. Best think might be to go out and measure. You could always get one of those tool boxes that mounts at the rear of the bed too. It would be easier to access it also.
