Camping In BC

Just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to spend time at Kakuli Bay on Kalmalka lake in Vernon. Also any info on the Kettle Valley Recreation park just out of Rock Creek. Trips planed but never been before.
any info is good info.

In 2009 we attended the BC Heartland Rally at Kettle River RV Park... very nice small park... nice 9 hole golf course across the way.

I've never camped there but I've cycled the Kettle Valley Railroad twice in the last 10 years. It's a wonderful area, with fantastic history and scenery. Be sure to visit the Myra Canyon -- something like 17 tunnels and trestles.

If you go to this URL and click on any of the campsites, you will be able to see a picture of the view from the site.

As you can see from the map, the campground consists of a number of tiered levels which extend from the lake level up the side of the hill. The vegetation at each of the campsites consists of low level bushes etc and some of them can be quite pretty.

The real shortcoming however is that none of the vegetation consists of any trees which will provide shade. During the summer months this campground gets really hot temperatures so it can get uncomfortable .
