Just got home from our winter trip south. 3 months and 5600 miles. We had a great time and a few adventures.
Suprises... from 33 degrees it took 3 hours to heat our 3055rl. A lot more volume than our 23 1/2 footer!!
Added a catilitic heater 8000 btu's, now we could heat the unit while sitting in Quartzsite without using up battery power.
Our Mission tires are still round on all sides. We had 2 flats, but those were on the front wheels on the truck. Both flats were from bad valve stems.
People that we met, DennisZ while we went through Lancaster Cal. and Uncle Rog dropped in when he was in Palm Springs. Really nice to meet 2 great couples and talk Bighorns.
Saw a number of bighhorns and a couple Landmarks. Talked to a few of the owners, to spread the form word.
Weather... Very cold to start off the got nice and warm
Places Quartzsite, Palm Springs, Mesa, Cottonwood Az, Laughlin Nev, Las Vegas and Parumph Nev.
Campgrounds... Mesa Regal and Sunlife in Mesa, Terrible's Lakeside Casino and RV Park were veru nice and of course 1000 Trails.
Mileage.... 11.3 towing to Quatrzsite, total mpg for 5600 miles 12.37 per US gallon, cost per mile .224 cents per mile. Fuel cost from 2.50 to 3.04 dollars per gallon.
The Cev 3/4 ton HD towed like a dream with no problem going up and down the mountains of Northern California.
things we saw that we would recommend.... Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire east of Vegas. Barleen's Arizonia Opery in Mesa.
that's it for now....

Rand, sounds like a great trip all around. Hope to see you again next year, we might even try to get a space by yours in PS for a day or two...Roger

Sailorand: Glad your Mission tires are still round and going strong. I hope they last. Besides the 5600 miles, what's the approximate total miles you have on them??

Thanks Frans
I would say we have about 7500 miles on them now. I check them every morning for pressure and at each stop that we make, which is about every hour. So far we have been ok.
