Oregon Coast Questions

My daughter and her husband are planning a trip down the Oregon coast perhaps as far as Northern Cal. They have a tent trailer and were wondering what types of hills and grades they'll run into. They don't have brakes on their tent trailer and are a little concerned, they are pulling with a Volkswagon Passat with the turbo diesel.

Any comments would be appreciated. My wife and I plan a similar trip someday..../Doug

There are some pretty good size grades on the coast. It's a really pretty drive with alot of nice campgrounds.
They might what to get a larger tv. As I recall the passat's have small brakes that can heat up and fail. Even with a small tent trailer.
Better to have a fun drive and enjoy the sights then to have your hands full and worry.
Hope they have a great trip.

How big (weight?) is the trailer? We have an 03 Jetta and that thing has brakes to no end. Father in law pulled a motorcycle tent trailer with his bike through Oregon with no problems. Same thing, he said it was beautiful.
