Landing gear manual access ?

Has anyone seen or have a access cover like this, I'm being told by heartland that they have used this type of cover on some of their units.
I have only seen this type of cover for electrical cord access on the old 30 amp systems. I do believe the alum. or steel bushing would of fit better and looked better and last longer.

That plastic unit is for electric cord to come out of for 30AMP I had on my last 5er. I agree it doesn't look good..

Hmmmmmmmmm

Come to think of it I do not have an acess hole to my landing gear. I dont think I will cut such a big hole though.

I made my own hand crank rod and bulkhead fitting for landing gear

Here is what the access hole for the crank should look like. I took a 2 inch alum. bar stock and turned it out on my lathe. It has a inch hole and three mounting holes. I polish it up on my buffer after turning it out on the lathe.I than drill a 1 inch hole in the side of our rig.I first made sure I was in line with crank pin in the front landing gear. The hole that the factory had cut for the pin was not cut right and the pin was rubbing on the frame. It had started cutting into the pin. I am lucky I fixed it now. because it would had really messed the pin up if I let it go on rubbing. I had the cut the hole out bigger. This was a pain because I have a genset and it made it very hard to get to the left landing gear inside of the rig. After drilling the hole in the right area I took my die grinder with a 1/2 cutting bit the cut the hole into the propane door frame. I also so had to cut into some of the alum. frame of the trailer side. You have to go slow working on that sub frame.I then put some spray foam in the inside of the frame upper and lower side of my cut. I cut the hole on the inside larger than the outside so I could put a piece of pvc pipe in the side wall and it backs up to my bulkhead fitting. This will keep water out of the inside of my wall. My bulkhead fitting has a 1 inch shoulder on it so it goes almost all the wall through the wall. But I did not want water getting in my inter wall so I put in the pvc pipe from the inside and sealed it good with sealer.I made my crank rod out of a old stainless steel pump shaft. I turn it out on my lathe also.I welded a nut on the end so I can use a cordless 1/2 drill with a 7/8 socket on it to turn the crank if I need to or use a hand crank I made.I will put the pictures of my landing gear work here and on the photo area of the forum

Loco,
As I said in your other post, it sure looks better than mine, Its to bad the propane door wasn't a few more inch's to the rear.

I checked my acess hole and as it turns out it is inside the propane storage compartment.

I guess my BH is layout different since I just open the door to acess the fitting.

Of course I think the best fix would be a bigger door by a couple of inches or just use a ratcheting handle from the inside. As a matter of fact I am giong to rig up a fitting for my drill.
