Added Dish Receiver Shelf to our 3812

We acquired a Dish Network receiver and found that the shelves above the TV aren't deep enough to hold it. We had to set it up and tear it down every time we moved, until one of our sons with some wood tools set us up with a new shelf that protrudes through a new opening at the top of our TV cabinet. The box is held down with wide velcro strips from a fabric shop. Now we can leave all the connections intact when we pick up and go. I've added before & after jpg's. If anyone's seriously interested we took a bunch of step by step shots but those with woodworking experience will have no trouble running with the concept.
We now have the two tall cupboards above the TV available and are thinking of adding an intermediate shelf inside to extend the space.

Great idea.
We added a fold-out shelf for our DirecTV box, but still have to pack it away to pull the slides in. Hadn't thought of going above the top of the slide so we could leave it there in transit. We'll have to look into this option!
Thanks for the pictures.
