Thought I was putting on steel valve stems

Put my truck in the shop this morning to rotate, road force balance, and new steel valve stems. All was good till we brokr down the bead on the first wheel! Ford has changed their TPMS to a rubber & brass stem with the sensor attached on the 2011's. They used to be on a band on the wheel, so now my TST 510's are mounted on rubber stems. I guess I'll be a ginny-pig and see how it works, so good so far for 8K.

Bill; It loves to cruise at 70+ mph but I have been running the speed limit so I stay between 65 & 75 on the interstates and the mileage is about 10 1/2 mpg. Gets a lot better on the 2 lanes at 55 mph. Probably the best towing truck I've owned.

Jon, I had the brass/rubber valve stems using my Pressure Pro. Thought I could sneak by. Wrong. After about a year I had one valve stem fail. The rubber split and I lost air. Thankfully the TPMS worked.

Peace
Dave
