Duo-therm Heat Pump AC

I have the 13.5K AC/Heatpump. If the outside temp goes below 40 degrees, it acts like it has no power. (No fan or anything, like it is unplugged) After the outside temp warms up all is fine. Anyone else experience this. Model # 630025.331

this is the normal operation of the heat pump.even a/c / heat pump units made for the home operate the same way. once the outside temp reaches around 35 degrees it starts to freeze ups and will not operate.you must then use your furnance to heat your camper.if you have a digital thermostat the thermostat itself should cycle into aux heat mode when the temp gets around 35 degrees.this feature allows the furnance to cycle on and heat the camper until the outside temp returns to around 35 degrees again

Thanks. That was my thought. I guess there is an ambient temp sensor that powers off the roof top unit when it gets below 40 degrees. Appreciate the info.
